Be Safe Online with simple Do’s and Don’ts

Dos:

Use a strong and unique passwords:

Encourage kids to create strong passwords using a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.

Protect personal information:

Communicate to children not to share personal information such as full name, address, phone number, school name, or financial details online without parental permission.

Be cautious with social media Sharing.

Advise kids to be mindful of what they post on social media platforms, ensuring they don’t reveal sensitive information or share inappropriate content. Remind them to adjust privacy settings to control who can see their posts.

Think before clicking or downloading:

Teach children to be cautious about clicking on unfamiliar links, downloading files, or opening attachments from unknown sources. Malicious software and phishing scams can harm their devices or compromise their personal information.

Report and seek help:

Teach children to report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior they encounter online to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher, or guardian. If they experience cyberbullying, harassment, or any form of online abuse, they should seek help immediately.
